The first ship-to-ship (STS) bunkering operation involving bio-methanol was successfully completed in Guangzhou, according to Hellenic Shipping News. This event saw a significant volume of bio-methanol delivered to a bulk carrier.
Chinese producer CIMC Enric supplied approximately 1,000 metric tons of pure bio-methanol for the operation. The bunkering took place at the Lantau Anchorage within the Port of Guangzhou.
The recipient vessel was the Green Future, a methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier. This vessel is operated by the Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) Group, as reported by Hellenic Shipping News.
Sinobunker's bunker vessel, named Daqing 268, was responsible for delivering the bio-methanol. The delivery method utilized was ship-to-ship transfer, a common practice in bunkering operations.
