Spirit Energy has completed a decommissioning campaign in the UK North Sea, according to an announcement from the company. The project involved the removal of 200 tonnes of offshore equipment.
The company reported that the total cost for this decommissioning effort reached $54 million. This campaign marks a notable activity in the ongoing process of managing aging offshore infrastructure.
The successful completion of such projects is crucial for environmental stewardship and the responsible winding down of operations in mature oil and gas basins like the UK North Sea.
