APM Terminals has commenced the official groundbreaking for the APM Terminals Laldia facility, located in Chattogram. This development represents a substantial Public-Private Partnership investment, according to Hellenic Shipping News.
The new terminal is being constructed as part of a significant Bangladesh–Denmark Government-to-Government partnership. Hellenic Shipping News reported that the project involves building the facility from the ground up.
Upon completion, the Laldia terminal is projected to introduce an additional 800,000 TEU of new capacity. The facility will also be capable of accommodating vessels with a capacity of up to 6,000 TEU.
Hellenic Shipping News indicated that the establishment of this terminal is anticipated to generate thousands of new employment opportunities within the region.
