Corvus Energy has launched its first marine battery system, which resulted from its partnership with BYD, as reported by Ship & Bunker. This new system is designed as a high-power LFP (lithium iron phosphate) solution.
The battery system is specifically aimed at various types of vessels, including tugboats, workboats, and ferries. These vessels typically operate with a schedule that allows for charging during the intervals between crossings.
Ship & Bunker indicated that the introduction of this system marks a significant step in the collaboration between Corvus Energy and BYD, bringing a new energy storage option to the marine industry.
