Equinor has received its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo, sourced from the US Gulf Coast, according to Hellenic Shipping News. This delivery is part of long-term supply agreements established with Cheniere, identified as the largest LNG producer in the United States.
The cargo was loaded at Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG export facility, which is located in Louisiana. This initial shipment is destined for Europe, as reported by the source publication.
Hellenic Shipping News also indicated that subsequent deliveries under these agreements are planned to serve customers in Asia. This expansion demonstrates Equinor's strategy to broaden its global LNG supply network.
