Newbuilding ordering activity has sustained its upward momentum, according to a recent weekly report from shipbroker Banchero Costa. The report indicated a continued flow of new orders within the shipping industry.

In the container sector, China United Lines, a Chinese owner, reportedly placed an order for two 14,000 TEU containerships. These vessels are to be built at Hudong-Zhonghua.

The cost for each of these containerships is estimated to be around 150 million US dollars, as stated in the shipbroker's report.
