The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk freight index saw a 2.5% rise on Friday, reaching a value of 3,186, according to Hellenic Shipping News. This increase extended its positive trend to seven consecutive sessions.
The index has now achieved its highest level since June 2, as reported by Hellenic Shipping News. This upward movement reflects a broad-based improvement in freight rates.
The Baltic Dry Index assesses freight rates for vessels transporting dry bulk commodities. It covers various vessel sizes, including the Capesize, Panamax, and Supramax segments.
Hellenic Shipping News indicated that the gains observed were widespread across the different vessel categories. The larger size segment was noted as leading this overall increase.
