Hellenic Shipping News reported that bound4blue has secured another order from Odfjell for the integration of its eSAILs technology. This new installation is planned for the 49,000 dwt chemical tanker, Bow Optima, marking a continued collaboration between the two companies.
The retrofit operation for the Bow Optima is scheduled to occur in China during the second quarter of 2027. This follows a previous installation of bound4blue's suction sails on a sister vessel, the Bow Olympus, which took place in March 2025.
The selection of eSAILs for a second vessel indicates Odfjell's ongoing commitment to exploring and implementing technologies aimed at enhancing operational efficiency within its chemical tanker fleet, as detailed by the source publication.
